Description

The Emulator Support Option is a separately licensed product option that is available with XD Ada™ MIL-STD-1750A Version 4.0 on OpenVMS™ Systems and provides support for emulators and simulators.

It allows the proprietary format XD Ada program image files and debug symbol tables to be converted into variations of the industry-standard IEEE-695 format. These are suitable for input to a range of third-party emulators and simulators and third-party tools. The following features are provided:

·         the ability to tailor the generated IEEE-695 symbolic object code with the /IEEE_OPTIONS qualifier. Control is given over many features of the IEEE-695 including:

The physical format of the output IEEE-695 file

Which parts of the IEEE-695 file are generated, for example whether the data part (i.e. the program binary) or the debug part (i.e. the symbolic information) is generated, and whether BB1 and/or BB2 blocks are generated

Support provided for both logical and physical addresses,

What type information is generated, for example whether information is generated for Ada array or record types, or recursive (i.e. self-referencing) types

What data information is generated, for example whether information is generated for register data objects, stack objects, static objects or constant objects.

·         Version 4.0 of the IEEE-695 standard is supported.
